Online Shopping

The popularity and accessibility of the internet has changed the fashion world. Every bag, sweater, or shoe you could possibly want can be shipped directly to your doorstep in a matter of days. This amazing resource can be both addicting and helpful. For whatever reason you love online shopping, these are some of my favorite places to shop on the web.

Nordstrom carries a wide selection of good quality, high end products at a variety of prices. Plus, they now carry Topshop and Topman!

Urban Outfitter's in-store selection is already fantastic, but their online selection (which includes the online exclusives) is a shopaholic's paradise. These are a few of my favorite online only pieces from Urban Outfitters:

ModCloth is one of the web's greatest online shops. Their unique selection of vintage inspired pieces will have you head-over-heels in love. ModCloth features many different designers and offers free shipping for orders over $50. These are just a few of my many favorites on this adorable site!

Amazon.com sells everything from designer bags to boxes of cereal, all at unbelievably low prices! One of my favorite things to get on Amazon is iPhone cases. You can get great cases that usually sell for over $30 or $40 for under $10!

New Speck Candyshell Glossy iPhone 4S/4 FineWine Burgundy (Burgundy Red/Teal)

$6.90

Hand Made Lace and Pearl Green Hard Case Cover for iPhone 4 4G 4S

$2.33

Amazon.com also has a great selection of apparel from companies around the world. It's a great place to find jeans, because of the low prices, the only downside is that you cannot try things on before you purchase them.

Get Ready: H&M Coming Soon

Austin's most stylish are eagerly awaiting the exciting opening of an H&M at the Domain. The opening of this influential store will change the dynamics of Austin shopping by offering affordable, quality pieces for the fashion conscious. Although the official opening date has not yet been released, we know it is coming this fall.

I've created a series of looks inspired by this season's hottest trends using H&M products.

This first look is inspired by the prominent equestrian trends this season. I also mixed in one of the season's hottest colors: oxblood. With the deep green and creamy brown, these colors create a classic preppy feel that is supported by the cord sweater.

New Look

This next look is a more wearable western inspired ensemble. The short cut sleeves on the top make this look more feminine, they also make it a great transition outfit: to wear when the weather is somewhere between freezing cold and swelteringly hot, but you're not quite sure where.

New Look

This edgy/glam look combines two of the season's funnest trends into an outfit fit for a night out. The balance between elegant metallics and rugged black and leather makes for a more interesting outfit.

New Look

This light pink and grey outfit is simple but stylish. H&M is a great resource for finding basics that you can put together for cute, easy outfits.
New Look

This next look takes inspiration from the season's menswear inspired trends. A blazer and a pair of oxfords paired with an average jeans and t-shirt outfit can create an adorable menswear inspired look.

I'm so excited for this amazing store to open here in Austin!

A Hint of Fall

This is the most awkward time of the year for Texas weather. One day I'm pulling out all my fleece blankets and the next I'm turning on the AC. I put together this simple outfit as something versatile to wear through the morning with a sweater when it's a bit chilly and to stay cool in when it warms up in the afternoon.

I found this H&M safety pin top in Vancouver last year and immediately fell in love. It's understated edginess and relaxed shape create the perfect balance and make this shirt stylish and easy to wear. To add extra layers, a simple black sweater would work great!

My earrings are from Strut, I used them to tie the whole outfit together and bring in the different themes.

I absolutely adore these knit shorts. I found them on sale for $10 at Urban Outfitters and they are super cute and comfy. They are the perfect shorts for the weather between summer and fall in Texas: their sweater-like fabric makes them more fall appropriate while their length keeps you cool.

My moccasins are from one of my favorite stores, Nordstrom Rack. Their impressive shoe selection puts a regular Nordstom to shame: most of the shoes are marked down 60% off! These Minnetonka moccasins were originally $65, and I bought them at $24. And get this: these exact same boots are still carried in regular Nordstroms at full price. Last season? Nope.

Top: H&M
Shorts: by Corpus (Urban Outfitters) $10
Moccasins: Minnetonka (Nordstroms) $65 $24
Earrings: Strut

New GW by Goodwill Boutique

Last weekend I visited the new GW by Goodwill boutique. I've been to the much smaller one on Bee Caves and I absolutely love it. These brilliant boutiques are full of designer finds at the same prices as regular Goodwills. My good friends Leonardo D'Almagro turned me on to this new location, as he was part of the team participating in their opening day event. He provided styling tips to customers attending the fabulous grand opening a couple weeks ago.

The environment of the store is very open and welcoming, it obviously carries a large selection, but looks organized and tidy-a major difference between this boutique and other Goodwills around town. It provided an atmosphere that supported a pleasant shopping experience that wasn't overwhelming, like many thrift shops can be.

All the items are fairly inexpensive, much like the prices of other Goodwills, but the quality of the products heris much nicer. There weren't as many pieces from extremely high end designers like Prada, Chanel, etc., but there was a lot of really nice, good quality merchandise from companies like Bannana Republic, Vera Wang, Ann Taylor, etc. I think one of the best things to buy someplace like this is designer jeans, which are usually very expensive. At a nice thrift or consignment shop you can usually find a great pair of jeans in good condition at a fantastic price. There were tons of great jeans at the GW boutique in all different styles and sizes.

The shoe selection was especially stunning!

Additionally, when you buy from Goodwill you know it's going towards a good cause. "Goodwill supports so many people who are struggling for one or other reason in their life" explains D'Almagro. "Thanks to goodwill they have training and support to go back and be productive in our community," As a young entrepenuer in the fashion industry, I find projects like these, fashion making a difference, to be one of the best ways to give back in a community. It's a win-win situation! As he puts it, "I like (Goodwill) because you are not only saving money, but you are also supporting an organization that help so many people to be reincorporated into our society."

The boutique is located at 3910 Far West Blvd Austin, TX 78731 (map).

I highly recommend this boutique, my shopping experience there was very enjoyable and I cannot wait to return.

Thank you to the amazing Leonardo D'Almagro for letting me know about this wonderful project!
