My Thoughts on Fall 2010 Shows, Chloé

Chloé's fall collection was very simple, mostly beige, with some brown, dark red, dark yellow, and hints of blue. Sofe of the outfits looked much like business suits, where others looked more casual, while also being very fashionable. Near the end of the show there was a few outfits with mostly grey and black, but soon they faded back into beige. The show did not have many bright colors, yet it had the same joyful feeling as a show with more colors might. My favorite thing about the show was that it seemed so easily beautiful, like it wasn't trying at all, it was naturally beautiful. It made fashion seem so simple, and made it make sense.

My thoughts on Fall 2010 Shows, Chanel PLUS: Lady GaGa's Fall

First I am going to tell you about Lady GaGa's fall. She was in an airport wearing shoes worthy of being in my post Shoes, shoes, shoes, and fell. Hmmm... I wonder why...
Fashionable shoes are not always made for walking any farther than down a runway, but maybe that is what she was planning to do, they do have runways at airports, just a different kind.
Ooopsy Daisy!

Now, about Chanel
"Giant chunks of bona fide iceberg, specially transported from Scandinavia, formed the frozen landscape around which models solemnly splashed through a sea of 'berg-melt in shaggy snow boots with ice-block heels." Sarah Mower said about the Paris show's runway (kind of). This seasons show was filled with (faux) fur and fuzz. It started out with a few outfits that were almost full body suits of fur, then outfits with fur attached, more classic outfits. It was unlike anything Chanel has ever done, but it had many aspects that were classic Chanel looks. There were also slight touches of modern looks, aviator sunglasses paired with furry pants, a leather jacket and a beaded necklace. Later in the show some outfits had more shape and structure. Then a wooly fabric became knotted into various outfits, creating patterns and shapes on the clothes. This show was hard not to love, it was a perfect example of absolute fashion, not defined by style, purely fashion.

My thoughts on Fall 2010 Shows, Burberry Prorsum

Burberry's Fall show was stunning-as usual, it was like going to an art show, with art you could wear. The show started with big collars, leather, and rough cut lace in dark olive-y green, brown, and black, with white fuzz and fluff. Next, snakeskin boots started coming in, replacing those of leather. Different fabrics began working themselves into outfits, and larger, smoother, coats with flattened collars replaced those with standing collars, fuzz, and leather that was more worn down. Studded purses, high boots, and tights came, a few patterns, and a greenish-yellow color made appearances on the runway. Then, more classic looks began, a lot of black and dark blue (one bright blue), and more uniform jackets, that were not leather. A large, fluffy, brown jacket, followed by a brown leather dress, and another fluffy jacket, this one longer, came down the runway, all with lower boots with buckles. The more uniform outfits continued, then a light beige jacket over a shirt with scrunched up fabric and a bright skirt started a brighter trend on the runway. Chartreuse, magenta, fuchsia, and yellow colors came down the runway, some metallic shades in wrapped fabric, lace, all with ankle boots and more straps. More fluffy and leather jackets covered the colors soon, and then, the end came, with one word to describe it all. Wow.

My thoughts on Fall 2010 Shows, Banana Republic

The Fall 2010 Banana Republic show was the perfect mix of fashion and style.  Layers of bright colors behind darker shades in multiple textures and fabrics. It wasn't something you would stop and stare at in the street, because it was so strange. It was simple, but stylish, and fashionable, with the smallest details, popping out from different layers.
"It's all about the modern mix, Formalwear mixed with casual attire and sportswear." said Creative director Simon Kneen  "It's about the individual, rather than a uniformed look."
Some outfits were more for the street, some were more for an evening outing, but each and every outfit had a twist, another theme, or idea. A dress fit for the red carpet, with a cozy grey sweater,  and casual black boots, creating an wonderful outfit, 44 wonderful outfits (some for men too).
