Spring is near!
On the runway trends like stripes, Italian and Greek renaissance, 70's, bell bottoms, crop tops, and tassels were spotted.
To start, I am reviewing the Burberry and Celine spring 2011 shows.
While Burberry started with mostly rock and roll and punk ensembles, Celine began with minimalist tunics and flowing pants. In both shows I found zippers on pants, jackets, tunics, and dresses.
Burberry's brights were molded into a futuristic look with a lot of leather, neon, and metallics.
Celine added brights to the show with graphic patterns
To soften rougher looks Burberry included ruffled dresses
For a softer edge Celine had crochet and long tail fringes pieced with stiff tunics and leather. These lighter touches also that added more detail to the mostly minimalist looks.
For a more feminine look Celine had wide, open shoulder necklines from the 60s
Both shows had contrasting points that mixed into a modern, glamourous look.
